About this blog

Boughton Leigh Junior School are excited to say that we have linked up with Riverside Academy in Ghana.

This blog site is where the pupils and members of the wider communities of the two schools communicate sharing thoughts, ideas and work. It is a fantastic opportunity for the two schools to gain a deeper understanding of school life and cultures.

Refugee week

🌍 Refugee Week at Boughton Leigh Junior School 🕊️

This week, we are proud to take part in Refugee Week, a time to learn, reflect and show support for people around the world who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution or natural disasters.

At Boughton Leigh Junior School, we believe in kindness, empathy and creating a welcoming environment for everyone. Refugee Week gives us the opportunity to explore important questions such as:

  • What does it mean to feel safe and welcome?

  • How can we show kindness to someone who is new or in need?

  • What can we learn from people who have come from different countries and cultures?

We are inviting all our pupils to share messages of welcome, hope and kindness—these could be short messages, poems, drawings or simple acts of inclusion. Your words and creativity can help someone feel seen, valued and part of our community.

Let’s come together as a school to celebrate diversity, promote compassion and make sure everyone knows they belong here at Boughton Leigh.

Blending Identities: Ghanaian and English Culture

Calling All Children!

We want to hear from you! If you are a pupil at Boughton Leigh Junior School, tell us what makes living in England special to you. If you are a child from Ghana, share what makes living in Ghana special. Is it the food, the traditions, the weather, or something else?

We’d also love for you to teach us some words in Ghanaian languages! What are some common greetings or fun words we should know? Let’s celebrate and learn from each other!
